To ensure the quality of vaccines, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requires units to prioritize landing rights for flights carrying this type of cargo.

On June 7, a representative of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam said that, in the coming time, flights carrying vaccines to and through Vietnam will increase, which should be prioritized for transportation to ensure the quality of goods.

The Department requested the Vietnam Flight Management Corporation to create conditions for the flight crew to transport vaccines when receiving requests to shorten the journey and ensure safety.

Airlines carrying vaccines should clearly indicate in the application for a flight permit and clearly notify the air traffic authority of the flight identification for priority landing. At the same time, the Department requested the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) to arrange infrastructure at the airport so that goods do not have to wait for long procedures and guarantee the quality of vaccines.

Last week, Vietnam Airlines supported free transportation of vaccines for many units on flights between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang and Buon Ma Thuot. The shipments included nearly 819,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine, 582,000 syringes and needles and 7,000 safety boxes. The total volume of goods is nearly 7.2 tons.

In the coming time, the airline will continue to support the transportation of vaccines by air, contributing to speeding up the vaccination schedule and protecting public health in the pandemic.
