Beijing ranks first in terms of billionairesBeijing ranks first in the world in terms of the number of billionaires.

Currently, a quarter of the 2,755 members of the Forbes 2021 World Billionaire List live in 10 cities, including more than 10% of the billionaires living in the four major cities of China.
For the first time in seven years, New York City in the United States lost its number one spot, with 33 new billionaires living in Beijing.
As of now, Beijing is home to 100 billionaires, just one more than New York. The rapid control of the Covid-19 by China, the growth of technology companies and the stock market made Beijing the number one position.
Although Beijing now has more billionaires than New York, the total net worth of billionaires concentrated in New York is still 80 billion dollars more than Beijing.
Beijing's richest resident is Zhang Yiming, founder of the video-sharing app Tik Tok and CEO of ByteDance. His net worth is $ 35.6 billion. Meanwhile, New York's richest resident, former mayor Michael Bloomberg, has a net worth of $ 59 billion.
China, along with the United States, has seen tech companies grow stronger during the pandemic, as more people shop online and search for entertainment resources online. Half of the new billionaires in China get rich from technology manufacturing or joint ventures, including female billionaire Kate Wang (who makes a lot of money from e-cigarettes).
Statistics from Forbes magazine show that last year 493 new people joined the Global Billionaire List. Thus, every 17 o'clock, a new billionaire appears. The richest billionaire in the world is currently Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon.
