This application has been sent to the Prime Minister, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Chairman of the People’s Committee of Nam Dinh Province.

The application proposes to temporarily step the demolition of the heritage just to wait for the comprehensive assessment of the National Heritage Council.

It is affirmed that Bui Chu Church in Xuan Truong District, Nam Dinh Province, is a unique artistic architectural and cultural heritage, second to none in Vietnam; it belongs to the national-level architectural heritage; it is therefore necessary to urgently protect this church.

Bui Chu Church is 134 years old and it is said that the Church is going to be renovated in May 2019 because according to the priests and Christians together with the local authorities, the Church is in bad repair now and it is dangerous for the catholic people.

It is the fact that Bui Chu diocese is recognized as the first diocese in Vietnam (in 1533) and Bui Chu Church with its history of 134 years, so it is very necessary to preserve it as an important historical relic./.
