Politburo issues regulations on examination and supervision of personnel work

Tran Quoc Vuong, Politburo member and Standing member of the Secretariat, on behalf of the Political Bureau, has just signed to issue the Regulations No. 179-QĐi/TW on the regime of examination and supervision of personnel work.

This Regulations substitutes the Regulations already issued in attachment of Decision No. 58-QĐ/TW on May 7, 2007 of the Political Bureau.

This is aimed at improving the leading capacity and fighting spirit of the Party, maintaining the discipline in the personnel work and guarding against the bribing in the race for the high-ranking titles and posts.

As far as the supervision regime of the personnel work is concerned, the Party organizations at all levels are tasked to make their programs and plans and in their own authority to conduct supervisions and examinations concerning the recruitment and transfer of officials or the allocation of the managerial officials, among other things.

The Regulations takes effect from the signing date and is popularized down to the Party cells./.


Flights of Boeing 737 Max banned over Vietnam’s air space

All the flights of Boeing 737 Max over Vietnam’s air space are officially banned after the decision of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam on March 13, 2019.


About 50 countries have temporarily stopped using Boeing 737 Max 8

After the two serious air crashes of Boeing 737 Max 8 in Indonesia and Ethiopia within 5 months, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has decided to ban all the flights of Boeing 737 Max over Vietnam’s air space.

This order takes effect on March 13, 2019 until there is a new decision.

At present, only VietJet has signed a contract to buy 200 air planes of the kind and it is expected to have the first plane coming to Vietnam on this October.

Mexico has become the 50th country that has stopped using Boeing 737 Max 8./.


Over VND trillion spent on upcoming population census

From 00hr on April 1, 2019, the population census will begin nationwide and will last within 25 days. This was announced at the on-line conference on March 13 on the population and housing census organized at 775 points. Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue, Chief of the Steering Committee said that this is the 5th population and housing census since the founding of the country. The latest census was organized on April 1, 2009.

The census will be conducted in 63 provinces and cities nationwide and in the ministries of defense, public security and foreign affairs for their characteristics.

The results of the census will help serve the study and analysis of the process of the housing and population growth in all the territories of Vietnam; it also helps assess the plan on the social and economic development in the 2011-2020 stage and act as an important basis for the formulation of the social and economic strategy to the year 2030 and the vision to the year 2045 (on the occasion of the centenary founding anniversary of the country).

Thousands of people offer incense to 64 martyrs at Gac Ma Reef

On March 14, 2019, thousands of people nationwide had come to offer incense to 64 martyrs who had laid down their lives in the fight to defend Gac Ma Reef (Johnson Reef in English) on March 14, 1988 at the Memorial Monument in Cam Lam District, Khanh Hoa Province.

The memorial service was organized by the Labor Union of Khanh Hoa Province. The fight on March 14, 1988 at Gac Ma Reef has gone into the national history as an indelible imprint in the heart and mind ò the Vietnamese people, it is declared.

The Gac Ma Memorial Monument was put into operation in July 2017 and since then, streams of people have come to pay homage to the martyrs. The site was built in an area of 4.5 hectares on the coast north of Cam Ranh Peninsula, Cam Lam District./.


10 typical young Vietnamese faces 2018 announced

The 10 typical young Vietnamese faces 2018 have just been announced by the Ho Chi Minh Youth Union for the award. They were elected from 20 candidates by the Award Council.

The award winners are, among others, H’hen Nie, Miss Universe Vietnam 2018 (27 years old); Nguyen Quang Hai, footballer (22 years old); Dr. Vong Binh Long (35 years old), Ho Chi Minh National University; Nguyen Duc Thanh (35 years old), intern professor, Connecticut University (Uconn, USA) and Van Dinh Hong Vu (36 years old), CEO Elsa Speak./.


Whitebook of EuroCham: A lot of recommendations for Vietnam

The recently published 11th annual Whitebook of EuroCham has made a lot of recommendations to help Vietnam form a more competitive and attractive investment environment for enterprises.

On the morning of March 14, 2019 in Hanoi, EuroCham launched the 11th annual Whitebook and also it coordinated with the Foreign Ministry and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) to organize the event: “EVFTA – Driving Industry Digitalization and Transformation for Vietnam’s Sovieconomic Prosperity”.

The Whitebook is an annual publication of EuroCham; it gathers all the concern, experience and recommendations of its over 1,000 members. The publication consists of 20 chapters with the contents covering a lot of areas and industries, ranging from information technology to human resources and training.

In the 2019 Whitebook, the EuroCham members have pointed out the key issues for enterprises with the recommendations for specific orientations and operations for the government to improve the business environment and the legal system of Vietnam, to boost the European trade and investment as well as improving Vietnam’s competitiveness in the global market./.

“All the standards and criteria being put forth should not make any negative impacts on traditional production and business of fish sauce” – asked Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is tasked to take charge of drafting the national standards and criteria for production and business of fish sauce of Vietnam through dialogues and careful study of opinions of organizations and associations on standards of fish sauce.
