Two Government’s Resolutions in first days of New Year
Right on the first days of 2019, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc signed to issue Resolution 01/NQ-CP and 02/NQ/CP of the Government.

Resolution 01 of the Government is on the task and main solution to carry out the social and economic development plan and the State budget estimate of 2019. As the Prime Minister put it, this is merely the resolution on the social and economic development; it is also the political determination and burning aspiration of the Government for development. It is aimed at enhancing the reform of the administrative and judicial procedures to make a contribution to boosting further the growth and improving the investment and business environment.
Resolution 02 is on the improvement of business environment and national competitiveness with more stress made on the business and investment environment and private economic development as the motivation, a breakthrough for the economic growth in the coming time. At the same time, more attention is to be paid to the social issues, in which the fight for an environment without corruption will be pushed ahead more strongly. More efforts will be focused on the combat against various kinds of crimes so as to guarantee a peaceful life for the people.
Resolution 02 also encourages the startup enterprises; determines the bio system development and innovation with enterprises as the center and boost the research role at universities, in which the Government requests that it is absolute not to use the administrative tools to meddle in the innovative activities of enterprises and research institutes at universities./.

Agriculture of Vietnam strive to be among 15 most developed countries
In the next 10 years, agriculture of Vietnam will strive to be among 15 most agriculturally developed countries to stoke the national ambition, said Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the conference to review the work done in 2018 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development held in Hanoi on January 3, 2019.

Vietnam strives to become a great center of wood processing for furniture export and shrimp production of the world, said Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, further requesting the agricultural sector to obtain the growth of 3% with export value of USD 43 billion.
In 2019, the Agricultural sector strives to build a smart agriculture, international integration, response to climate change, raise added value and sustainable development in combination with the building of a new, prosperous and civilized rural areas./.
Defense Ministry rearranges a range of units
At a conference of the Party organization held on January 2, 2019, Lieutenant General Do Can, Deputy Chief of the Political General Department of the Vietnam People’s Army made a report on implementation of renovation and rearrangement of the organization of the army units.

The Defense Ministry has made the plan to carry it out in some units on a trial basis to draw experience before having it implemented in the whole army. Specifically, 88 military enterprises will be rearranged into 17 enterprises. The Ministry will also organize the economic groups in the strategic zones with special conditions concerning national defense and security without purely economic activities.
Streamlining the apparatus and cutting down the staff should be carried out closely and synchronously with good coordination of the agencies inside the army.
25 military hospitals have now been given financial autonomy. So doing, the State budget will be considerably reduced. The press system of the army will also be rearranged and perfected. For example, five magazines will be integrated into the one named “Defense Magazine”
The Ministry has also dissolved 14 reserve engineer brigades, 6 vocation training and job introduction centers./.

Thousands of Tet gifts have been brought to soldiers and people on Truong Sa Archipelago to welcome Ky Hoi Tet 2019 (the Year of the Pig).

According to the report of Brigade 146 – Navy Zone 4, as of January 1, 2019, thousands of Tet gifts of the army have been shipped to soldiers and people on Truong Sa archipelago.
On the other hand, Khanh Hoa Province has also sent tons of goods and necessities, cakes and confectioneries to soldiers and people on Truong Sa archipelago.
These gifts can help add more strength to soldiers and people on Truong Sa archipelago to defend firmly the country’s sovereignty over the sacred archipelago of the Fatherland./.
North of Vietnam plunged into cold snap in early days of 2019
A cold snap has hard hit the North of Vietnam right on the first days of 2018. The whole North of Vietnam has been plunged in icy cold weather.
Tourists flock to Mau Son to enjoy snow fall
Cold snap started to hit the North of Vietnam on December 29, 2018 and continued until January 4, 2019. In the high mountainous areas like Mau Son (Lang Son Province), Dong Van (Ha Giang Province), Pha Oac (Cao Bang Province and Sa Pa (Lao Cai) have seen the first snow fall and ice.
A lot of tourists have flocked to Mau Sopn to enjoy snow and ice on the mountain. On the first four days of the New Year 2019, the whole North was plunged into cold snap and a lot of people were hospitalized.
The total rail fall in the Central part of Vietnam is 25% higher than usual for many years, while the Highlands and the Southern part of the country can see the out-pf-season rain./.
