With 99.76% of the National Assembly deputies voted “YES”, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was elected the State President for the 2016-2021 tenure on October 23, 2018.
President Nguyen Phu Trong takes an oath
After the vote to elect the State President, the National Assembly deputies witnessed the newly-elected President to take an oath. Then the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam pledged his absolute faithfulness to the Fatherland, people and the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, striving to perform excellently all the tasks assigned by the Party, State and people.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, President Nguyen Phu Trong said that this is the great honor for him and at the same time the very heavy responsibility. He further stressed that besides the advantages, we are facing innumerable difficulties. However, our country has never had such a future, potential, position and prestige on the international arena as it has now.
We are fully entitled to take a pride in the achievements recorded by the entire Party, army and people in recent time, but we will never rest on the laurels; on the contrary, we should always raise the high sense of responsibility and the spirit of vigilance, the President concluded./.

Among the 48 titles for the vote of confidence are Vice President; the Chairwoman of the National Assembly; Vice-Chairmen of the National Assembly, members of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly; the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Ministers, members of the Government; the Judge of the Supreme People’s Court, the Head of the Supreme People’s Procuracy and the State Auditor General.

On October 25, 2018, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong signed a regulation stipulating the responsibility to set example by the officials and Party members, and first of all, by the Politburo members, the Secretariat and members of the Party Central Committee.

The Profit500 rating list – 500 top enterprises with the best profits in Vietnam in 2018 was announced on October 22, 2018.
PetroVietnam (PVN) tops the list of 500 Vietnamese enterprises with the best profits in 2018
Topping the list is the PetroVietnam (PVN), while Vietcombank ranks the 7th and Vietinbank, the 9th.
Also in the Top 500 are Vinamilk, Hoa Phat, Vingroup, VP Bank, Techcombank, Truong Hai automobile Co. (Thaco), Vietjet Co., MP bank and the Masan group.
The ceremony to honor and announce the official list will be organized on November 29, 2018 at the National Convention Center, Hanoi./.
University education of Vietnam ranks 53rd out of 150 countries
On October 23, 2018, A3 Ranking announced the rating chart of university education in 2019. Accordingly, university education of Vietnam is rated 53 out of 150 countries.
Hanoi National University tanks the first in 7 universities of Vietnam
The method of rating is based on the number of published research works and the number of received scientific awards.
A3 is short for Academic Ranking for Academics by Academics, including the ranking of Top 200, Top 500, Top under 50, Top under 20 and the Countries Ranking.
Also on October 23, the education organization Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) of Great Britain announced the rating results of 505 best Asian universities in 2019 (QS Asia 2019).
According this ranking, Vietnam has got Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh City National University, Hanoi Technology University, Ton Duc Thang, Can Tho, Danang and Hue Universities./.
Bach Mai and Viet Duc Hospital, second branches in Ha Nam, inaugurated
On October 21, 2018, Bach Mai and Viet Duc Hospital, second branches, located in Phu Ly City, Ha Nam Province, was inaugurated.
Second branch of Bach Mai Hospital, has got a size of 1,000 inpatient beds, meeting the requirements of 5,000 patient turns per day
The second branch of Bach Mai Hospital has got a size of 1,000 inpatient beds in service of 5,000 patient turns per day. The total land area is 123,000 square meters. There is a 6-storey building and one basement. This is a state-of-the-art hospital that included the cardiology, internal medicine, cancer, kidney-urology and respiratory departments.
The second branch of Viet Duc Hospital also has got 1,000 inpatient beds in service of 3,500 patient turns per day. There is a 9-storey building with two basements on the total floor space of 125,000 square meters. This hospital is specialized in surgery.
These two hospitals are built in the northern part of the country and 3 others are in the southern part. These hospitals are the priority of the State in the hope that they could help serve better the people./.
